Introducing… Creative Mommyhood!

I don’t know why I’ve waited so long for this “official” post announcing my creative project, aka, my blog to the world.  It could be that I wanted things to be just perfect.  And as we all know, perfection is completely attainable as long as we work just a little bit harder…

Yeah, right.

The truth is, this blog is never going to be just right or perfectly ready to launch.  But it’s time that I shared it with the world.

I conceived the idea for Creative Mommyhood back in January of this year.  I didn’t realize it was actually that long ago until I thumbed through a blog idea notebook and found the first bits of information I wrote down for this blog.

I wanted to create an online space where Moms could come to share their struggles and triumphs of raising kids while also actively pursuing and sharing their creative passions. And the fact that you’re reading this now is proof that this online space really exists.

You, Yes You, are Creative

Whether you know it or not, you are creative, Mom.  Yes, even you.  Maybe it doesn’t manifest itself in BIG, obvious ways, but there is something about you that makes you YOU and seeks a creative outlet.

For me, my creativity shows up in my music and my writing.  These are two things I’ve done as long as I’ve been able to read and write, and I plan on continuing to do as long as I have breath in my lungs.  And, God willing, in the next life too.

This blog exists to fuel my creativity and yours on the tough days of motherhood.  We all know there have been, and will be many more tough days!  It will also inspire you on the best of days, those days when you feel like you’ve been put on planet Earth to do something amazing!  Because that’s the truth about you!  You are amazing and you can do amazing things.
