Day 2: Week of Thanks

Day 2: Week of Thanks

Welcome to the 2nd day in this #weekofthanks! Remember, it’s never too late to leave a comment on this post or in any of Creative Mommyhood’s social platforms sharing what you are thankful for! I’d really love to hear from you.

Let’s get right to it. Today, I am thankful for the different friendships in my life.

There’s a cheesy little tune that I used to teach my elementary music students that keeps running through my head today:

“Make new friends and keep the old; one is silver and the other gold.”

Yeah, it’s corny, but the sentiment behind it is spot on. Friends are so valuable. Especially in our microwave, screen-obsessed society.

thankful for friendships

When I moved back home to KY two and a half years ago, I was sad to leave the friends I’d spent the last ten years in FL making. But as I began to put myself out there, I discovered there is plenty of room for new, sweet friendships in my life. And many of those friendships from FL are still going strong.

It is especially awesome today because my best friend since 2nd grade is in town and spending the entire day with me! She and I live 800 miles away, but our friendship has survived years of lots of ups and downs.

No one is an island. We all need friends to turn to in our lives. Do you have a friend you’re thankful for today? Why not take a moment to let them know how much you appreciate them? I’m sure it would make their day!

Ok, see you tomorrow for Day 3! Don’t forget to share what you’re thankful for today in the comments!
